Purpose
HMRC to undertake a large-scale quantitative research project to better understand the reasons families may not be claiming Child Benefit.
Information sharing benefits
The research will support HMRC’s objective to maximise support/welfare provided by Child Benefit to families with children. By understanding barriers to claiming Child Benefit they hope to better target their comms to customer cohorts to improve Child Benefit take up and the associated non-monetary benefits too. HMRC will receive birth data from 1 April 2019 – 1 June 2022.
