Digital Economy Act Data Sharing Agreement Between Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) And South East Water Limited (SEW)

Purpose
The parties wish to share data in order to meet requirements set out in the Digital Economy Act for Water Companies to either disclose or to receive information in order to assist people living in water poverty.
Information sharing benefits
MBC is aware of customers that are eligible for SEW affordability tariffs which will enable customers who are potentially in water poverty to receive discounted tariffs. SEW will on receipt of the data will apply the appropriate tariff to reduce these joint customers future water charges.
Disclosed information
Categories of Data Subject: Household Customers of South East Water who are considered to be or might be likely to be in water poverty. Personal data: Forename; surname; full address; partner’s forename; partner’s surname. Special Category data: Special Category data will not be shared by MBC with SEW.
