Identity fraud prevention through sharing of data between Cabinet Office (through GDS) and HMRC, using the Shared Signals Framework (SSF) Messaging Pilot

Purpose
The Pilot will enable earlier identity fraud detection and prevention by HMRC and GOV.UK One Login services.
Information sharing benefits
The Pilot will improve identity fraud detection and prevention by enabling HMRC and GDS to share information on suspected identity fraud or prosecution activity. By receiving fraud signals in near real-time, GDS and HMRC are able to prevent identity fraud earlier and reduce downstream identity fraud occurring earlier within Other Government Departments.
Disclosed information
The data share will be a two-way process between HMRC and GDS for outbound and inbound fraud signals. It will contain specific data to allow the sharing of identity fraud information, suspicions of identity fraud or interventions.
