Provision of data matching and sharing services to support British Gas Trading Limited identify and deliver assistance to eligible customers living in fuel poverty via the ECO Eligible Referrals (EER) initiative.

Purpose
The EER initiative provides a route to identify certain energy consumers who live in fuel poverty and may be eligible for the installation of energy saving measures into their homes under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS).
Information sharing benefits
Information sharing between the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and British Gas Trading Limited to identify energy consumers who are in or at risk of fuel poverty and may be eligible for the installation of energy saving measures to reduce energy bills under the ECO and GBIS schemes.
Disclosed information
The energy company will share a unique identifier for each consumer record, name, date of birth, UPRN and address. DWP will return the unique record identifier with a flag which will indicate the result of the check against the qualifying benefits for ECO/GBIS.
