- Purpose
- This data matching service provides a route to identify certain customers who live in water poverty and to provide assistance to such people through the administration of both the WaterSure scheme enacted by the Water Industry (Charges) (Vulnerable Groups) (Consolidation) Regulations 2015 and social tariffs enacted by the Water Company for the purposes of s.44 of the Flood and Water Management Act.

- Information sharing between the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Sutton and East Surrey Water Plc to confirm the eligibility of customers who are in or at risk of water poverty in order to provide reductions in tariff costs.
- Disclosed information
- The water company will share a unique company identifier; scheme identifier; unique record identifier; name; date of birth; UPRN and address for each customer. DWP will return the unique company identifier; scheme identifier and unique record identifier only; with a flag which will indicate the result of the personal details check (i.e. matched/not matched); the match level achieved (i.e. 1 - 20); if the record passed validation (i.e. Y or blank) and the scheme specific eligibility check(s) results (i.e . Y or blank).
